Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
This policy explains what data Resumly collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately short.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account when you sign in.
- Resume data: the structured resume you create or approve (contact details, experience, education, skills and so on).
- Job data: company, role, job link, job description and notes you enter for each application.
- Usage: a record of each AI action from the last 24 hours, stored against a one-way hash of your email (not your account), used to apply fair-use limits. Records older than a day are deleted.
What we don't store
PDFs you upload are processed in memory to extract text and are not saved. PDFs you download are generated in your browser and are not stored on our servers.
How we use AI
To parse and tailor your resume, the text of your resume and the job description are sent to Google Vertex AI. We use these providers only to provide the service to you, and we do not use your content to train our own models.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers that run Resumly (hosting, database and Google Cloud for sign-in and AI processing).
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual applications from your dashboard, and delete your account with all its resumes and job data from Settings. Fair-use records are not tied to your account and expire within 24 hours.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in, plus a preference for light or dark theme stored in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.
